Who I am: Hello! The question was asked , "Who am I?" So for the inquiring minds, I have decided to try and put into words a brief, yet not entirely vague, biography. I will try to keep it as informative, yet concise as possible. My name is Joshua Johnston. I am the last of four children of my parents William, and Sharon Johnston. Where to start? Well, my parents have lived in Africa since 1976. I spent the majority of my life in Africa. I have many memories of going to game parks, and wildlife reserves with my family. I think it was on one such trip, that I was handed a camera to take pictures of the lions, elephants, rhinoceros’s, leopards, and Cape buffalo. For a while, all we had were film cameras. As a kid, most of the pictures ended up as out of focus blurs, with a few exceptions, of course. As technology changed, we eventually updated to digital cameras. Art was more my focus in my younger years, rather than photography. I took several types of art classes; from abstract, to still life, and I even worked in the summer for a printing company in Swaziland, southern Africa. It was during this time, that I was put in charge of a project at my church to take pictures for family portraits that would go into the church register. Although I enjoyed taking the pictures and playing with the camera features, it too was not the start of being a photographer. It wasn’t until many years later after college that I found myself working for a company called MSR Northwest, traveling over 100 days of the year, and seeing some of the most amazing sunrises, sunsets, green fields, mountains, and the turquoise colors of the Pacific Ocean that brought out the passion to try and capture it on film. Most of my desire was to share the experiences that I had, and the things I had seen with others. I eventually began upgrading the cameras I was using, buying my first digital SLR in December of 2010. Since that point, nearly every moment I spend driving, walking through the streets, or even observing everyday life, bring my thoughts back to figure out how to capture each moment. I have been told by quite a lot of people that they enjoy looking at the pictures I have taken. So it is with that notion I decided to share my expression of art, and life with everyone. The idea had been running through my mind for several months about how it would go together, and how I would form my hobby into a business, until one day I realized it was just a matter of making the decision to go forward with the idea. It was with that decision that Resolution Photography, LLC was formed. After several months of planning and organizing, it was now ready for its debut. Resolution Photography, LLC is established in Washington State, and is run and managed by its owner, me, Joshua Johnston. As a customer you should expect the images of Fine Art Photography on this site to be continually updated, and changing. About the company: Resolution Photography, LLC as a company has decided to maintain a standard style of print at its outset that may change over the course of time. However, for now every print is printed onto aluminum. The sizes available on the website can be ordered and shipped directly from the shopping cart. We do offer some special order options, and depending on the image, some prints can be special ordered up to 48†X 96â€. These prints do require a special shipping procedure in addition, because they are shipped in a wooden crate. All special orders require pre-payment. If you would like to place a special order please email us at resolutionphotographyllc@gmail.com
