I have been a shutterbug since middle school. In high school, I took several photography classes; learning composition, perspective and development. I loved those classes so much I contemplated attending art school. My logical brain got the best of me and I decided to go to Penn State and study Health Policy and Administration and Business. Although my education was not in the arts, I remained in love with the camera and often annoyed friends and family with my picture taking. I always had a camera ready to document all the important and not so important times. In recent years I have discovered how valued some of those photos have become not only to me, but to those same friends and family. It is comforting to have our loved ones and memories documented for generations to come. In 2008, my roommate from college asked if I would take a family portrait to commemorate the birth of their third child. I was honored. The portrait hangs in their family room where she says she can enjoy it every day. Soon other friends and family asked if I would take their photos; I said “Of courseâ€. I have been privileged to share in many great moments in others’ lives, and have decided to make my hobby and passion, my work. I am finally doing what I love! Sincerely, Jane McKnight Bass
